Her role is multifaceted, involving tasks ranging from payroll and bookkeeping to handling personal, corporate, and tax-exempt tax returns. Maira is also a notary, adding versatility to her skill set.
Maira's journey with our office began as an intern from 2017 to 2018. In October 2021, she transitioned into a full-time staff accountant role. Although she didn't start working in accounting until her internship in 2017, Maira's dedication and aptitude for the field quickly became evident.
She studied accounting at Southern Oregon University, graduating with a business degree with an accounting emphasis in 2018. Maira's favorite part of her job stems from the variety it offers. Managing diverse tasks allows her to work with a wide range of clients and entities, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
The camaraderie within the team is what Maira loves most about her work. The office is filled with amazing and kind individuals, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere. Learning from her colleagues' diverse areas of expertise has been a valuable aspect of her professional growth.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Maira enjoys spending time outdoors during the spring and summer with her two dogs, exploring nature. As the weather cools, she finds comfort indoors with a good book and the warmth of the heater.
